The progress of the Escalation League is the following:

1. Week 1-3 – 500-point games using the 40K in a Flash rules. (Explained Below)
2. Week 4-6 – 1,000-point games using the normal Warhammer 40,000 rulebook
3. Week 7-9 – 1,500-point games using the normal Warhammer 40,000 rulebook
4. Week 10-12 – 2,000-point Championship games using the normal Warhammer 40,000 rulebook

League General Rules:
- Each player will play one army throughout the league (IE: Orks in all 4 Tiers)
- Each player is limited to 6 games per tier (for league credit)
- You may not play any one player more than once per tier
- To receive League credit, your opponent must fill out and turn in a result slip.
- Points for credit will be as follows: 1pt for Loss, 2pts to each player for a draw, 3pts for a Win. There cannot be an intentional draw as this will result in both players receiving 0pts for that game.
- Points will be awarded for wins, losses and draws
- Games may be played on any day of the week during business hours of Cape Fear Games
- A player may earn an additional 2 points per Tier for spending at least $35 on Warhammer 40K product at Cape Fear Games during each Tier. (models purchased on or between Feb. 21st and Feb. 28th count towards Tier 1)
- Army Lists are subject to review by league organizers to ensure enjoyment of all players in the league
- League prizes will be awarded on May 23rd
- Tiebreakers will be single elimination matches to determine a true winner
- Armies Lists are only locked in for the duration of the current tier (IE if you make a list for tier 1 you cannot change that list until tier 2 and so on and so forth)
- All Games will be set up using the random mission rules in the back of the 40k Rules Book. (This may change with the new Missions rulebook being released by Games Workshop)
- A Leader Board will be on display to show everyones current rankings and which week/tier it is.
- The League Costs $10 for the duration of the league.

Rules for 40k in a Flash:

- May not contain models may have more than 3 wounds

Would anybody be averse to playing an army partially composed of proxies (ala paperhammer http://www.goldenboltersociety.com/paperhammer40k)?
Not vehicles, of course, they have too big a footprint, but only infantry.

For instance, if I'm running deathwing and have 6 real terminators, a tank, and 10 paper cutouts?

I would really look down on that from a rules standpoint (this is allen the league organizer). I happen to have some terminators you could use though I think like 23? I know its a weird number but it comes with buying collections. So if you want to use them your more than welcome to. But no proxies please.

That'd be awesome! I can build a full 500-point army with my other marines, since deathwing is prohibited at the lowest level anyway.

A question about the rules: in the "40k in a flash" gametype, is the 50-point wargear limit per model, per unit, or per army?

Yes but we are going to do some leagues for fantasy in the future. 40k is futuristic.
