OK, hectic week but here's the latest and greatest for our Iron Kingdoms crew: The Trollkin and Elf arrived at their destination to deliver the ARTICLE 1185's but were having trouble getting into the inner city as it was a war torn style setting with the outter rim being all rubble and mess; rubble and mess that easily hid our ambushers. Some resistance members had gotten wind of our delivery and set up a complex ambush with an elevated cannon position, an elevated crossbow sniper across the building from us and multiple ground level melee combatants front back and flanking us. Unbeknownst to us, ONE of the ambushers, an arcane assassin in the opposing side of the street (crossbow sniper), was NOT a part of the ambush but had gotten the wrong word of a necromancer his order had dispatched him to, well......DISPATCH (the necromancer he's lookin for is still alive, so our beloved "Skeletor" was winged but not hurt by his shot, though he did launch a knock out bomb at the start of his assault that incapacitated some of our foes but none of us so, he unknowingly helped us). So we teamed up, defeated the ambushers, who had people on multiple levels of an adjacent house, a cannon set up to gaurd the stairs up to the cannon firing at us on the street and of course the main cannon itself. Their leader tried repelling down the outside of the building but the trollkin tought him how to fly instead from the second floor window with NECROM.
Now we're trying to get paid for this shipment; after all we'd ricked life and limb for these things and this was supposed to be an uber-pay-day....but for 18 articles, they tries to shell out a measly 10K....TOTAL. The Trollkin, being the greedy money grubbing shmoe he is said double it or no weapons for you. they agreed but we have to transport these things to yet ANOTHER location another days travel away. So we spent the night licking our wounds, redressing and fitting armors, beefing up for the quick jaunt ahead (hey, we got ambushed plenty thus far: F that unprepared nonsense, we goin in HOT!). And so, on our travels we were acosted once more by a band of rather strange folk; one of which talked to us but could care less about the articles. She just wanted some rusty jeweled necklace we took from the island. We said no....but for some reason the elf (has the necklace) took it off and threw it at her, the trollkin threw NECROM BEHIND him and everyone else but our mage hunter decided it was best to ditch their weapons as well........stupid casters >:/
So we picked ourselves up, shook loose the enchantment and began the brawl. They were far more prepared tan we were for they had a hidden artiliry (light mortar) position in a nearby building. The trollkin, being slow and lumbering as he was, really didn't do much as these enemies were rather nimble so it fell to the elven archer, our mage hunter and our "jack" with his mechanic gun slinger. Now, there WAS a priest in the enemy group and he was using these guys on crosses to draw power from, but some defiler suddenly spoke up when the battle was turning south for them, killed the priest and picked up the amulet. GAH!
This was the necromancer that our mage hunter was assigned to slay so both he and our archer focused on her, the big jack and the trollkin focused on the enemies in front (including a VERY strong shield jack who kept F'n throwing us around like rag dolls in a tumbler) while our mechanic went to work taking out the arty position. The necromancer proved to be..chalenging, to say the least. She was constantly blasting things, killin gus on the crosses which made the jack stronger and stronger every time (D*** MAGES!!!!) and everytime she did spell damage she healed........OI! And to add to the trouble, she put on the amulet and began to breath fire at us! A few rounds later, she sprouted wings; chick looked like a half-dragon on crack, I'm tellin ya and twice as annoying to boot! The battle ended up being everyone of us gathered around her trying to bring her down, but she decided to try and fly away with OUR relic...a fact the pleased the trollkin to no end, and thus with a mighty final swing the landed in her midesction he brought her down to the ground where she failed to move after NECROM had his way with her life. So now we're wounded but everything's in tact, but now we have to find out who sent these folks (it was the crix obviously, but we need more intel on the subject including WTF is up with the necklace that turns spellcasters into dragon like things...I say spellcasters because the elf was wearing the thing and aint nuthin kewl happened to him yet) and get them to stop with this ambush pain-in-the-rumb squad buisness. Still was able to deliver the articles and collect our pay though.
Oh, forgot to mention, they wanted to give us 10K for the lot of the articles but for delivery to the new location we got 20K...1K/mage killer weapon + expenses and hardships plus finders fee? Hey, not all that much to ask is it? So now we're looking up shops for gear upgrades before we set out to find out whatever we can find about this necklace and how to stop these stupid crix junkies N flunkies from comin after us. Side note, we're also still tryin to get a bead on that scandalous lil wench that took the mask from us on the island.....she has a pending dental checkup with NECROM acording to our trollkin friend........

Iron kingdom recap help.

The enemy that attacked Group A have been Menoth, Ristance of LLalah, and of course Thermite necromancers (Which can be confused for Cryx).

When they arrived at the second town they where first ambushed by Menoth forces who did attack with artillery fire and used the crosses to enchance their priest's magic. After the group nearly slaughtered them all except for the priest... THen came the Necromancer who killed the priest and demanded them to hand over the pendant and the shipment of article 1185's. While they did refuse she just mind warped them into making most of them disarm themselves as the Felix threw the dragon pendant at her. Then came the battle as she utilized undead and killed the people on the crosses to enchance her mech. After the battle they hand managed to kill the necromancer... but not kill her fast enough as she turned into an undead spector and flew away from her broken body with the dragon pendant until a luckly shot by the team's mechanic with demon claw bullets blasted it out of her arm.

The team managed to meet the Kador forces and receive their payday... but not money for expenses though they did get to loot the fallen first as a finder's fee/reward. Now they have an unknown pendant that had transformed a necromancer into a half dragon like powerhouse and a new set of questions for them. How will these event affect them now?

As for Team B... They managed to sort of press gang a necromancer to join their group while they are in search of a necromancer group. Checked on the undead pirate captain and... Fubar managed to get in contact with a Cryx necromancer and told her where exactly they are at while the Cryx are searching for the pendent. So now the bulk of the cryx forces that landed on five fingers is converging on the temple with their goal to kill everyong so they can for their spirits to tell them what they want to know.

So how will team B fair? Heck can their force withstand the assault of the Cryx assault? Find out next time on Iron Kingdoms!

I think I left right as NECROM was doing in the dragon necromancer. Sounds like you had no problems mopping up after that. See you guys tomorrow.

"Pride goeth before the fall" as team B found out the hard way. Despite the huge runic circle throughout the temple and the individual rune circle that SNAFU crafted at the main temple entrance, our enemy proved to be too much. We had the option of gaurding one of the smaller and confined side entrances, but most of us chose to gaurd the main door. SNAFU, FUBAR & OMFG took that duty, assisted by a heavy vector mech while WTF ran relay between defensive posts with two light vectors.
Wave number 1 went smoothly, 6 crix skelton knights and about 10 ghostly skeleton cyborg thingies; very little damage taken and only 1 or 2 of the necromancers minions bit the dust (6 risen and 2 warriors total, down to 5 & 2 now respectively). The second wave came as 4 hulking "fat men" (ranged cannoneers who exploded when killed) came along supported by some possessed heavy contruction jacks and 4 doom heralds (skelly knight executioners with that mist of theirs). We took a nice little beating while we took them out when we seen the next wave; a super reaper jack, surrounded by ghosts, protecting a curse caster, a few more possessed construction jacks and 4 living bad guys with harpoon guns and blades.
The cannoneers had already done a good number on SNAFU and OMFG, dropping SNAFU and forcing reinforcements (two human mechanics from inside the temple doors) to come out and strat ratcheting him back to fighting condition. The necromancer was down to his final 3 risen and both his skeleton warriors who were holding the line of ghosts at bay and stalling the arrival of the reaper jack, but all the risen fell, the skeletons retreated back to the stairs and the circle and FUBAR lay in wait at the stairs for the big bad jack to arrive as both OMFG, SNAFU & the heavy vector attempted to hold back the swarm with ranged line and AOE attacks. All for nuaght as one of the harpooners snagged SNAFU in the shoulder, reeled em in and re-opened his soul chamber, which sent the mechanics scrambling to his aid.....in the middle of 2 ghosts & his harpooner. WTF was dropped by a ghost & construction jack tag team hit combo that cause him to begin coughing blood and dying while FUBAR was hacking away at the reaper and himself got knocked into coughing up blood and dying.
In his final moment of life, FUBAR slashed a mighty slash on the reaper, dropping it cold before passing into the next realm himself. SNAFU's mechanics were all wasted by the ghosts and harpooners, WTF arrived only to be cursed and brought down by the scene of undead nightmares he came to assist with (with two light vectors which were quickly destroyed after the enemy felled him). In the groups final moment, their caster and leader declared that we would give her the dragon....if we survived transport. Being in love with himself and his own soul, SNAFU shouted a retort that brought the witch closer, where he detonated his body core and blasted the creature in his final act of defiance. Sadly, she did not die, but, the group got the final laugh.
Long story short: group wipe (junk rolls for the players and many many many lucky rolls for the enemy). End tally of enemy defeated; close to 20 ghosts, 6 skeleton knights, 4 doom heralds, 4 "fat men", 1 reaper jack, 2 possessed construction jacks, 2 harpooners and scores of wounded ghosts, possessed jacks, another harpooner was wounded as was their leader by the final act of the groups defiance. FUBAR and his fell blade were taken back to crix where he is to become a new model of death knight, OMFG was taken as another prize to be turned into a crix iron clad lich, WTF's body was taken to be given to his brother Mr Gibbles as a present, the heavy vector was destroyed without an oprerator to run it and the invading force withdrew it's assault from the temple shortly afterwards.
Now a lone statue has been erected before the temple, of mighty SNAFU standing tall and defiant with a captain morgan style stance, foot hiked up on the head the the very reaper jack which fell during that battle. A memorial to the brave and mighty fallen heroes who stood against tremendous odds, where few stood against many, and never backed down. "Death is but a speed bumb" boldy carved at the statues base.

The group had some time to kill as the session ended early so we just finished distributiing the loot, traveling back to our headquarters in five fingers where we are now a licenced mercinary company capable of holding our own contracts, and spending our hard earned cash upgrading our equipment. ROADY, our cart pulling bison is now a slow moving tank with the highest armor rating in the group so he wont be dropping anytime soon. The Trollkin upgraded his armor to make himself more durable. The elf armed, armored and trained his wolf to not only be a more devastating combatant, but to also be a MOUNT. The mage hunter is stil deciding on whether or not to armor up or weapon up for his upgrades, the mechanic is building a workshop within the headquarters and continuously upgrading his jack ZERO (who's an F'n beast now, by the by.....) and lastly the mage and skeltor both renovated the building, built their own labs and have yet to decide on what to do with their own remaining loot. What's on the horizon for team A? Gotta figure out what this ugly necklace is all about and why the crix want it so bad....and why that lady turned into a dragonish-thing.
There's a new team B in the works as well, so stay tuned for more develoments in the disfunctional world of Iron Kingdoms and the morbid reality show, the misadvantures of the 5 fingers mercinary crew.

And the new and improved TEAM B takes the stage as a party of humans who were thrown together to go in and clear a mansion of an evil necromantic lich after some huge godzilla like creature wreaked havok on some of the local docks lately and ate yet another of the death mages while it was doing so. Now loads of adventurers are off to some island that supposedly hold a vast crix treasure trove, leaving five fingers a little uncertain as to what to do about this house with more death mages in it. Of course there are other adventurers in town who have taken up the call, but with so many going to the island, are the few remaining going to be enough to rid the city of this menace? THat's what TEAM B will find out folks!!!
TEAM B: a human dancing monk named MJ (Mitchel Jones or sumthin, but, this is a moon walking fist-o-fury jet li monk that just can't help but walk talk and act like the dead star, line/song quotes and all......good god the flashbacks I'm gonna have playing this group.....), a human warcaster priest of Morrow who's believe is that divine power should be used to empower you allies to achieve greatness in the name of Morrow, to spread the word of the almighty Morrow through the amazing acomplishments of leadership and teamwork (yeah, he's a buff specialist and a medic for short), another human warcaster who follows the philosophy of "you're always right with more might", loading up on combat abilities and spells to blast enemies apart and lastly, a death mage. The death mage had other things to tend to as did the monk as both the war casters were chosen to investigate this manor and ensure that the threat of the death mage was no more.
Our "welcome" to five fingers was in the form of a clasic ambush; 2 street urchins below nicking away with blades, 2 mages on the roof trapping us in an alley with walls of fire and 2 archers who were content with trying to put us to sleep and lighting us on fire with napalm and knock out gas arrows. The fight went poorly for them as were proved to be quite resilient to all their effects (it also helps that one of their casters passed out and the battle warcaster threw down some impressive voleys of magic for a focuser). SO...on to the mansion..........
The mansion looked like some scooby do nightmare come to life, but the yard was well maintained....dunno if we were more creeped out by that or the fact that other people were clearly in the house or that the gate was still closed with no one around. Upon entering the manor, we were greeted by a talking, dancing, giant rat (giant, as in, big as a whiskey barrell/cask) which the priest found to be a little too much (hey, this thing can NOT be a part of gods design! Means only one thing: INFERNAL!!!) and tried to blast it with an anti-infernal spell (one of his two offensive spells) but missed the dodgy lil spunk and it ran off. Looking through a few rooms, we MIRACULOUSLY discovered (sweet luck roll) a secret door leading into a passage way that was dust laden and had not been traversed in some time.
We were deciding on the best way to aproach going down the narrow passage when the fireplace we were in began spinning around and around so fast that both warcasters were pasted to the walls! We were able to see a rather insane spectacle in our massive spinning mery-go-round-from-H*** escapade (through all the vommiting of Bahamut, the priest) of the same rat that was shot at jumping up and down repetatively on the switch that keyed the swinging of the doorway, taking us on our little not-so-much joyride. We were able to make it out just before the fire place light up and caught us on fire, but the rat got away.....little gilbber! Time went on, we went through all the cob-webs, began going down a winding spiral passageway towards the basement when we heard a "YA-HOOOOOOOOOO" and the sound of rushing, from behind us. Bracing for a charge, around the corner came that dang rat..riding a small thick soupy acidic sludge. Bahamut blasted the rat, but the sludge kept comin so Jazz (she's the warrior warcaster) & Bahamut ran down the spiral fast as they could only to stumble into a room of 3 skeleton knights, 2 skeleton archers, yet ANOTHER F'n rat (yeah, this one talked too) and 2 giant spiders.
This battle ddn't go so well as when it was just the archers left, Bahamut was riddled with poison effects and Jazz had taken some beating from the knights and was dropped by the archers moving into melee. Bahamut was able to destroy the undead about to sever Jazzs neck, but the last skeleton was about to end Bahamuts life as a result.....when our savior miraculously showed up in a spot light, crashing through the roof, landing on and crushing (destroying/killing) the final enemy......a dancing, MJ style spinning, singing and moon walking monk in a spot light shining through the hole he'd just dropped in from. After healing what he could, getting Jazz back on her feet, Bahamut looked curiously and wearily up the hole....only to see a rat on a dangling pedistal in priestly robes, dancing and singing. So....he shot magic at it until it dissapeared. Introductions were made, we decided to team up since we nearly bit the bone, and proceeded out of the room.
The next room we came to was a lowered room with a massive stairway leading up to an evil altar, by which stood a full blown lich.....but,nicely dressed. Claimed he was a buttler looking to leave with his belonging since a "rich master" no longer resided here. Bahamut, being of the almighty and strong in his faith, walked bldly forward and up the stairs to confront the undead....when he saw the D*** rat behind the altar in his robes smiling! A quick (and deadly accurate for once) bolt of magic splattered that rat for good.....or so he thought. Out of the walls of the room below the stairs came 6 giant rat-like humanoids, 2 more popping out behind Jazz in the corridor and the vaporized rat reformed into....MEGA-DRACO-RAT-THING!
MJ went to work rocking out 3 of the Ratmen, Jazz focused all on the ratmen by him with a veritable whirlwind flurry-fury of melee strikes with his great weapon while Bahamut retreated from super rat down the stairs to be halted by the other 5 ratmen in the room. MJ took his enemies out with very little hang ups, taking a few hard hits but still flying his fists into their throats, Jazz murdered the rats on her while Bahamut ended up having his sword caught in the teeth of one of them....then the big boy joined the fray. Bahamut, seeing that Jazz had started her volley of chain lightnings and seeing how dodgy these large being were, decided to have Jazz center her blasts on him ("My faith is strong and I'm easy to hit. Morrow will protect me......FIRE!!!!"). This went exceedingly well, torching most of the ratmen in just 2 rounds..until the final round when that dreaded roll came about that leveled Bahamut (critical strike with a lightning bolt ALWAYS hurts, don't care who ya are). The battle was won, barely, with no party member having more than 1 HP, 2 were coughing blood (patched up by Bahamut once he was able to get off his rump, who was one of the ones coughin) and survive to tell the tale of the demonic rat thing. Unfortunately, with all the comotion, the lich was able to get away, so we might have to deal with that later.
And so begins the illustrious adentures of TEAM B; undead crushers and exterminator extra-ordinair! Gonna have to work on that name....don't think that'll be a good catchy buisness slogan for five fingers.........

Side note: Team A's Trollkin took it upon himself to outfit ROADY (our cart pulling mega-bison) with some heavy duty armor and a gas mask helmet. Oddly enough, even without rune plate enhancements or anything like that, ROADY now has the highest armor rating of the group, is harder to hit that the Trollkin (not saying much there, but it's a note), is STRONGER than the trollkin (and quite a few non-collosal jacks for that matter) and has a nasty ram attack if he's ever unleashed....or, un-carted, whatever. Our Trollkin seems to be fond of this gynormous beast.

Or he just doesn't wanna be the one to have to pull the cart.....jury's still out on it.

DnD second edition recap.

Woken up from forgotten ages three elven heroes are brought back to life to combat the growing darkness that has taken over the lands. A drow thief angered by being removed from his peaceful afterlife, A half elven druid ready to help fix the broken world... and a cynical half elven ranger who did not want to be stuck with another seemingly impossible quest. Before them stood an old dying prince who smiled as he handed off his duty to protect the land from evil too the newly revived heroes as he died. Only the druid tried to talk to the other humans as the other two hid in the shadows.

The humans are shocked by the druid's appearance as elves have become a myth. They explain that a deathly knight in black armor called Nightmare Jack is burning the land as his rain of chaos is destroying everything in sight. They killed a witch who tried to warn them about the coming threat. Then after Nightmare Jack torched their kingdom they captured the witch's daughter and sealed her in a cage made out of silver as they deem all magic evil... expect their own. Needless to say the thief and the ranger were not to happy about having to help these jerks.

Then out from the temple Nightmare Jack had freed the witch's daughter and left some minions to slaughter the humans (and with these jerks who could blame the young girl for picking a death knight over them?) The humans tried to fight and fled bravely like cowards leaving the elves to fight instead. The druid called forth his priestly magic as he managed to entangle the scarecrows and their skeleton soldiers. The thief hid as he drew in closer ready to use his talents in stabbing the enemy in the back. While the ranger fried a volley of arrows at one of the two scarecrows. The attacks did nothing until one of the arrows caught on fire and made the 1st scarecrow go up in flames. The second one was stabbed in the back by the thief as doing little damage as the team realized that their powers have not fully returned as the human jerks didn't even finish the revival properly. The scarecrow cursed both the druid and the thief hampering their skills greatly as it spawned a new stronger version of itself.

The half elf ranger ran back and lit the rest of his arrows on fire as he fired the flaming shots at the scarecrows managing to kill them. slaying the scarecrows destroyed their ties to the Skelton men reducing them to ash. The elves then find out that Nightmare jack spawns the Scarecrows who then in turn spawn the skeletons. As his time continues to grow so does his army. Can the elves manage to wake up anymore ancient heroes to assist them in their quest and can they manage to defeat the first foe that has damaged the world? Can the other two elves mange to get use to their weakened new forms? Find out next time on DnD second edition!

Iron Kingdom Recap!

Team A has finally returned as they made it back to Five Fingers! The trollkin and the human mechanic managed to find news about Mr. Gibbles and his return to Five Fingers. So they went to investigate as the human Biff Bullet Storm managed to find out that Mr. Gibbles is building a new Mechanized suit of destruction with even deadlier weapons. Their old employer managed to tell them about a small tournament were an old gang that has resurfaced is recruiting new muscle. Apparently their leader is the same woman who was wearing the mask that got of the Cryx island. The mighty Trollkin enters the tournament thinking that he will lose but knowing that losing will give him a chance to infiltrate the gang while Biff searches the crowds for the gang. The first fight went as the battle between two trollkin continued as neither would fall, but our hero managed to be declared the winner. The second round came as a bounty hunter goblin managed to nearly choke our hero unconscious with a whip as the trollkin used all his strength to force the goblin out of the ring winning by a ring out. With magic being illegal in this tournament The troll took on a cheating duelist who managed to beat him, but not before out troll's new found companion Roady managed to ram into the duelist reveling his cheating tactics causing the crowd to beat him into a pulp letting the troll reach the final fight in the tournament. Almost ready to lose to throw the match to attempt to infiltrate the gang he finds himself against the necromancer who stole the mask in the first place. The necromancer called Seares pulled out a chained whip as the two of them entered in a blood bath against each other as both of them tried to kill each other in the fight. In the end the guards had to restrain both of them as the Trollkin managed to break free with his left arm as he tried to continue the fight as the necromancer was pulled out of the arena. Meanwhile the Biff managed to uncover the where the losers where being brought and recruited into the gang as he spots the female in the mask. A goblin strikes him in the back as the gang quickly hides as Biff tried to flirt with the girl only to be rejected. The goblin quickly fell as the trollkin ran past Biff ready to get take back the stolen mask and possibly finish his fight with the necromancer. He raced down one of the alleyways only to run into a small machine that reached up to his knees... Confused by this the troll did not see Mr Gibbles jump down from a roof top and smashing a wrench knocking out the troll as Mr Gibbles posed and took a picture of the scene and left them a picture.

Damaged by the attack the group regroups as they managed to find out about where Mr Gibbles is preparing shipments to be sent as he, the girl in the mask, And Seares go to every day. The trollkin and the elf move towards the warehouse by the docks and attack after nearly being struck by a few lighting bolt from the enemy. As they slaughtered most of the foes a flash happens in the warehouse making a bunch of supplies disappear. In an attempt to corner the surviving mage in the warehouse they enter the middle of the room as they recognize the mage as Seares who laughs as a bright flash went off making them disappear.
