Now, onto a different matter: the up and coming PALLADIUM campaign. 4 heroes have began to form for the campaign; a human bard, a human psi-healer, a human Palladin and a Wolfen Long bow man. a 5th hero has expressed interest though getting a hold of him for confirmation is proving to be difficult (though if he does join us he's began the creation of an elven assassin). The group will begin it's jorneys in the southern Human kingdom of Timero, the kindom of slavery. Fate and happenstance has brought this motley crew of adventurers together for fairly common and menial purposes.....but through their campaign they will learn that they face nightmares beyond anything their minds could envision as their sinister foe(?s?) make demon lords, deevil lords and even the greatest of gods stir with wory in their home diefic realms. Will the party survive the unfolding appocolypse? Will this evil explode forth and consume the megaverse? Only time will tell.......and the clock has already began its tick-tock. "The clock hands turn gentlmen....."

The Sudsy fist expedition crew set out again on another mission of mayhem! The fast handed and tongued Flyn and the wild sniper Berggitta (with trash mouth the finisher) set out to handle negotiations between the stone giant miners and our forces while Bolt, Braun and two fighter brothers went to an area where Frost giants were raiding mine, food and equipment deliveries. We acomplished our mission; end taly was 26 red drake hobgoblins and 7 frost giants dead. What to take note of: BRAUN! (Picture of him on previous post....and yes, we're still in the mountains in the middle of a scalding blizzard... and he's still dressed the same as depicted. Thank To'err and Peyton for his frostbrand maul!!!)

He charges a frost giant, misses with his first attack and hits the ground...then proceeds to heave upwards with his maul and destroy the giants lower spine and it's ability to......relieve itself in any functional way.
He charges ANOTHER frost giant, solo, LEAPS and gores the poor things berries with his demon horn helm....and just dangles there while the rest of us bring it down. 2 other giants went down failry easily. Now, on the the next (final) fight.
Braun didn't look before he lept and ended up, on his shield, Carl Urban-Pathfinder style sledding his way down the mountain....into a camp where 3 frost giants and 20 drakes held 7 stone giants captive in cages. I brought down a nice chunk of the mountain in a combination avalanche and rock slide which chased Braun and Buried half the drakes and 1 giant....and stuck Braun, who bounced off a rock and went from sled maniac to the worlds first UFO saucer pilot (smacking the jaw of a gaint with his maul as he flew by, then crashed into one of the cages, then to the ground) under the wagon buried by the last reaches of the avalanche/slide. The giants were not happy with being buried and suprised, so, they imediately began hurling boulders (SIDE NOTE: forgot to mention, an earlier fight against a giant, Braun, targeted by a flying boulder from the first giant, pulled off another miracle....by CATCHING THE BOULDER AND HEAVING IT TO THE SIDE before charging the, now, VERY suprised giant). Suffice to say, it took a nice long spill to end this battle (one of the stone giants got loose and helped out..almost died and once they realized I was the groups caster as well as the one who brought the mountain down on them, they began to attack me (THANK TO'ERR & PEYTON for my full plate and shield!!!) but, no one died. We had quite the time! Now, the Red Drakes were in league with the frost giants to steal/sabatoge the ore deliveries....but we found a scroll with combat orders on it; from our very own employer LORD LENG!!! The orders said to ambush the ore shipments, steal the ore and that a group of dwarves were on the way to interfere (that'd be us) and that the dwarves were to be eliminated and dissapeared. We decided to escort the stone giants back to their mountain fortress that we secured their alliance in and we ended the session. Are the orders fake? Or di Lord Leng try to have us killed? If thye later, why? Why now? How are Berggitta and Flyn faring in their negotiations? What about king croak and our dragon hatchling (and to a lesser extend......our griffon mounts)? We have a dire descision to make.........

Now, Palladium note. The Assassin has probably dropped from the group, but two more eager heroes have stepped forward! A human Necromancer with a conscience, doomed to insanity with his choice of magic who also has an impressive amount of minor little psionic abilities to bolster his abilities. Lastly a psionic master (MIND MAGE!!!) who absolutely despises secrets and secrecy............Funny thing is, both these characters are shorter than avergage for their race and one of them is a lil butterbean! It would appear that this group will have it's fare share of high eatery bills!!!

So, the group thus far:
A Wolfen Longbowman
A Human Bard
A Human Psi-healer
A Human Palladin
A Human Necromancer
And a Mind Mage

Pre-made I have a VERY TALL Elven Assassin with minor psionics, a pudgy lil Gnome Mercinary Warrior (trap and infiltration expert) and a Dwarven Mind Mage (combat orientated).

Begining story lines have been finished for all the players in the group that have joined thus far.

Anyone else wanting to get in on this campaign? We have room!

Last session was super fun to run. Thanks guys for making it a blast. It was really something to see a frost giant get his tailbone crushed.

I don't think I've posted this here, but you can see my drawing of Bolt Thundersmite, our party cleric, here:

Next session, things really heat up as the Sudsy fist escorts their stone giant allies to safety.

Necromancer & Mindmage characters completed as well as the long bowman. Took the time to roll up some more alt/pre-mades as well: so far I have a Troll Priest of darkness (UTU patron diety) and a kobold psi-mystic in addition to the assassin, the mercinary warrior and the mind mage. Group is looking to be fairly ballanced thus far with the characters we have in the making/made already, but there's always more seats!

It was so much fun running the session tonight. I can't tell you how much I enjoyed it. I really hope I get to run more before the baby comes. My wife and I are trying to work out a better arrangement than nothing at all. Every other week has been tossed up, so maybe I can run something two weeks out of the month and someone else can run on alternating weeks.

Good news on the death rules for Kyle's character, Thirsty. (who was awesome tonight). He legitimately lived without any rule breaking, according to the D&D Next rules.

The Black Hounds were in great form. Great role playing. The hounds were played very differently by each person than their Sudsy Fist characters.

I loved Bardistiva catching himself on fire and diving in after the trolls, Cauldwell lecturing people with his Bible, Singh unbolting the crossbow, Thunk jumping off the side of the boat to go to the depths, and Prego being an amazingly eccentric gnome with nonsense phrases and unorthodox battle tactics. I forgot about all the clockwork spiders in the commotion and forgot to address them later in the fight, but that was cool, too.

I really enjoyed the multiple layers of the dwarf battle, too. It made for extra suspense with so many different challenges being addressed at once. I'm just sorry that Braun had such a hard time. I think I might change the rage rule to either an hour cool down period that doesn't have to be a rest between rages, or a constitution save to try to recover.

Just some thoughts.

Another alternative for Braun is that he can be fatigued or exhausted after each rage and can't rage while in that condition. A lesser restoration would remove that effect making me further and more carefully ration my spells plus neither of those 2 effects are, COMPLETELY, immobilizing so he can still function. I definitely enjoyed getting back to the black hounds campaign! I SORELY missed my Bardistiva; he's chaotic good, but as far as red drakes are concerned, he may as well be chaotic evil (NO ONE DESTROYS MY WORK AND LIVES: DEATH TO ALL BETRAYERS!!!). Cauldwell and I are definitely gonna have some "issues" in the future with Red Drake dealings and my tactics..........

Sudsy fist: We entered the mining cave where the stone giants were held captive and found or former loan shark employer trapped in a pit. While we were trying to get him out, we were ambushed by 3 red drake tower shield bearers (pushers; kept trying to push us into the pit...they did manage to push me over....pricks....) wearing full plate and 3 very agrivated and dangerously accurate crossbowmen wearing chain mail. The battle was fairly long for we could not see them initially due to an illusion effect they had going on until I dispelled it, but mostly because our forces were divided and the pit posed a huge tactical problem with us constantly trying to get out. But, we managed, defeated the drakes (2 got away though....d*** it!) and proceeded to rescue our companions Flynn and Bergitta plus none other than our very own: TRASH MOUTH THE FINISHER! So now the crew is back together again and when we next pick up, we decide on our course of action.

Black hounds of Errith: Thats right baby, we're BACK IN BLACK! The black hounds left off facing a 100 man hobgoblin company of mixed shield bearers and archers supported by 5 casters.......were did not do so well apparently (battle happened out of character, we picked up afterwards....if we'd have ran it, the battle woulda been over in 5 rounds or less in my opinion.....) as the new and improved D&D NEXT team were separated from General Fangoran during the battle route. We found ourselves sailing with a limited crew (most were killed before we picked up the storyline from random sea monster encounters) to the dwarven nation. We were attacked by sea trolls who thought us easy marks....we proved them wrong. Our goblin barbarian THUNK dove overboard and began captain ahabing one of the trolls, I set myself ablaze and jumped onto another one and began blasting it in conjunction with the burning, our new leader Commander (forgot name..human palladin) was sabering trolls in the neck as they clamored upon the rails, our elven archer was swinging legolas style from a harness and feathering any troll in sight and our gnome bomber....well, he reverse fired a cannon and buried it into the head of one troll, was throwing shock and fire burst bombs with his sling shot and just being oh so jolly with sayings....that made no sense to anyone but the character. the fight ended with only a few trolls dead (and some misc body parts from all areas of their bodies) and the rest swimming off (one of which, suprisingly alive, has a cannon for a face....willie coyote all over again here). Finally we got to land, encountered a hill giant (that I failed to web...DOH!) but our commander was able to pursuade this giant to look else where for food as we set of towards the Dwarven mining town of Deeprock; the last known destination of our beloved general and the true Dwarven king. We decided to stop off in a small dwarven farming town...only to realize after slaying 5 red drakes in a tavern that the town had been butchered and the red drakes just made themselves at home....a home that I am currently wreathed in flame and am walking around all the structures and setting them ablaze with the drakes inside.........let them all BURN! Will the drakes escape the blaze and come gunning for the black hounds or wil they perish like the innocents that dwelled there before? Can we find our General and the Dwarven king before they are captured or meet an untimely end? More adventures await the Black hounds of Errith!
