Hahaha, lack of mercy penalty. We certainly deserved that one today. At least it wasn't a bigger penalty for murdering me inadvertently, glad you guys saw through that one.

The Skeletal, Iron Covered Dracolich stares down at you as you walk up the final ramp leading to the top of the tower. It shifts its weight, and spreads wings for a moment for balance, but makes no other overt movements to attack you. Waves of necromantic energy emanate from the Skeletal creature, leaving a faint feeling of dread from merely being near its presence. On the floor of the tower rooftop here, you can see inscribed a pentagram. An empty doorframe stands in the center of the star, between you and the skeletal dragon. It looks like the door the brought you too the shadow realm... except that this doorframe you can see right through. Presumably, it is not yet active.

"Si jinthil wux"

The dracolich rumbles at you. "I remember you", Melech translates for the others.

"Zyak nomeno ui svanoa yth geou tafiaf. Geou wux qe wer hewa? si geou keefum wer hewa ui|ulph vers shafaer wux... wux?"

The dracolich snakes its head down and stares directly at Pendarric, blowing dust through its nostrils at him. Melech dutifully translates again, "So this is how we will meet. Will you be the mage? I will smell the mage's power on you... you?"

"Usv wux?"

Now the dracolich swings its head to stare Notos down. Melech supplies, "Or you?"

"Si geou tepoha mishun wurunwi... mishun wurunwi. Si envied wux, si envied wux shio dout crowns. Si ornla build vi taoul ihk ve vur sia kin, vi taoul duulo de ithquentvi vers, vur de coi, kult persvek martivir. Si geou clax svabol ui sini de wer wiekr. Shar wer marfedelom arcanissar... jaci killed wurunwi."

Melech translates: "I will have such dreams... such dreams. I envied you, I envied you all your crowns. I would build a city for me and my kin, a city free from otherworldly influence, and from it, rule in peace. I will take what is mine from the fae. But the Necromancer... he killed dreams."

"Wux geou qe aldoera tenpiswo. aldoera ekess wer realm di wer Kaegro Wurunwa."

And finally, "You will be welcomed here. Welcomed to the Realm of the Undead Dream."

The dracolich sits back, and awaits your response.

Notos tentatively steps forward, motioning for Melech to translate.

We are glad to meet someone here who does not wish us harm. It is a noble cause to have a place for you and your brethren to live in peace, and we are striving for the same for ourselves. We have come to find the Well of Storms and to keep the fae from using it. I would gladly work as the mage you expect if you can help us stop the fae from terrorizing our world, in the hopes that we may both go to our realms and find them in peace. What say you, great one?

"Wux ornla dronilnr wer malrunwa ekess wer treskri di mitne?"

The dracolich slammed its massive tail down onto the roof of the tower, denting the iron significantly in a sudden fit of rage. "You would bring the nightmare to the world of light?" Melech translates after picking himself up off the ground. He wasn't the only one to be knocked off his feet.

Then it calmed down again.

"Thric, wux geou ti qe wer hewa. Si jinthil jaka. si jinthil batobot wer hewa geou qe voga."

"No, you will not be the mage. I remember now. I remember that the mage will be another." There seems to be something funny about the dracolich's tenses. It seems to be speaking of the past in the future tense?

Turning to Notos, Garron says, "How is it that you approach everyone so earnestly and respectfully, yet you managed to upset anyone you talk to? This might be a part of some deeper problem you are dealing with."

Motioning to Melech, "Three simple questions. Who is the mage? Who are you or more specifically who were you when you had flesh on your bones? Finally, what do you mean when you say 'Realm of the undead Dream?' When explaining, sir molten dragon sir, do so as if I have no understanding of planar cosmology, the wars of the gods, and only a vague idea of who the necromancer is."

Ancor picks himself up off the ground, brushing himself off out of habit even though there's no way to tell if dust exists in this realm. Leave it to Notos to try diplomacy with this thing, he thinks with a smile. Listening to Garron, Ancor fails to stifle a chuckle. And leave it to Garron to simultaneously interrogate and patronize a dragon. Still, Ancor has little else to add to the conversation. Besides, he wonders, maybe that's the only way we'll get a straight answer.

Leaning over to Pendarric, he whispers, "You're the magic buff here. Any idea what the hell this thing's talking about?"

Notos takes a step back. Well so much for hoping he was talking about any realm other than ours to make his own... Isn't there a better realm for a Dracolich? he angrily thinks. I really need to stop trying to be helpful with these monsters, it never seems to be any good. What is going on here anyways... With an arcane check of +9 I would like to look at the area, trying to feel if the magic dampening has changed or if there are any anomalies in the area. (I assume the DM will roll for fairness, but let me know if you would rather me)

(My internet has been down for 2 days)

"Wer thaczil di wer kaegro wurunwa. Coi ui tenpiswo. Ghent wer marfedelom arcanissar, coi geou qe wer realm di wurunwi... vi charis di youwei ekess confn. Ghoros jacion, wer wurunwi tepoha loreata, vur hak twisted sari wer malrunwa di Wurunis Gix."

"The land of the Undead Dream. It is here. After the Necromancer, it will be the realm of dreams... a hope of things to come. Before him, the dreams have died, and then twisted into the nightmare of Dream Claw," is the translation.

The background magic on top of the tower is roughly the same; that is, non-existent.

"Si geou qe Maekrix di Hargast. Sia svihelen wielga ghoros wux, shar si met vesk ehaism ekess ehaism, vur tore jacioniv ehaism stoda. Mrith coi, si geou qe lae si mi ghoros wux. Ornla wux save vi ithquent de ve?"

"I will be King of Hargast. My family fell before you, but I met Vesk face to face, and tore her face off. With it, I will be as I am before you. Would you save a god from me?" Melech also adds, in case you'd forgotten, that "Vesk is the God of Death."

"Wer hewa jahus standing tenpiswo. Erekess wer ifni. Svadrav wux met jacion, tira wux letoclo jacion? Usv tira wux letoclo ve?"

"The Mage was standing here. Through the door. When you met him, did you help him? Or did you help me?"

(lets see if the players can make their own real life spot checks...)

His interest peaked, Ancor looks up at the dragon and ponders for a moment. A mage that was here before us... could it be? Of course. Those were his elementals that attacked us after all... and weren't they attacking the dragon before we arrived? Speaking to the party, Ancor grumbles, "He's got to be talking about Neris. Who else could it be? He senses the power of this 'mage' on us. Are we not all carrying weapons crafted and enchanted by that blasted wizard?" Working with this theory, Ancor continues. "This dragon asks if we will save a god from him. Didn't that mage fancy himself a god when we first met?"

With an Insight of +12, is there anything else I can discern from this dragon, either through the way he's speaking (i.e. expression and tone) or by his movements?

Sorry, do not mean to disrail the game, but I realized I screwed up. My lovely wife has informed me that I cannot go to the store Tuesday night as we have birthing classes at the hospital... However my Monday night has been freed up. If people are ok with it can we meet on Monday? I think all but one of us can meet that day. Again, I am sorry, I completely forgot that I had that obligation, and it isn't something I can really miss.
